Christmas card series 2016 #1…a partridge in a pear tree…

Hello crafty friends!

Over the next 6 weeks, I will be sharing with you a series of cards I have made featuring the Bugaboo digital stamp set ‘The 12 days of Christmas’.

Now! I like a bit of tradition…but I also like a bit of whimsy! So, this is what this series is all about…unconventional tradition! lol

I will be posting two cards each week, on Monday and Thursday, so if you don’t want to miss any of them, click the follow button at the end of this post to receive notification of each published post.

Here we go…

‘On the first day of Christmas, my truelove gave to me’…( I bet you’re singing this 😉 like me!…)

#1…a partridge in a pear tree

12-days-1

The sentiment has been printed onto Neenah solar white card and die cut using a rectangle stitched border die. I then used a versamark pen to trace over the sentiment and heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Next I used Tim Holtz Distress ink in Tumbled Glass to blend the background. The image was also printed onto Neenah solar white card and coloured with Copic markers. I used yellow Stickles glitter glue on the pears and popped it up on foam tape to add dimension. Lastly, I used Liquid Pearls in opaque white to add the dots on the background.

I would love to know whether you are a die hard red, green and gold traditionalist or like me a ‘try something different’ crafter when choosing your Christmas cards….

Check out card #2 on Thursday…

Happy crafting and see you soon xxx

  1. I like all sorts of colours schemes for Christmas – depends on my mood, or who I am making for usually. I love this partridge – he looks like he can’t quite believe his luck at finding so many pears! Super card!
