Christmas card series 2016 #3…Three French Hens…

Good morning my crafty friends!…

Welcome back to the third day of my Christmas Card series…

‘On the third day of Christmas my trulove sent to me…three French Hens…(still singing!… 🙂 )

#3…three french hens…

12-days-3

oooh la la! That wine sure looks good right now…

As with the other cards, I have printed the sentiment and the two small hens on to Neenah solar white card and cut out using a rectangle stitched die. The sentiment has been traced with a Versamark pen and then heat embossed in clear embossing powder for the words and gold embossing powder for the number. I then masked the birds and used a combination of Spun Sugar and Salty Ocean distress inks to blend the cloudy sky. This combination was actually only meant to be Spun Sugar but because I had already used Salty Ocean with my cloud stencil it came out pinky purple!… a happy accident me thinks…;)

I coloured the images with Copic markers and popped the larger hen and Eifel tower on to foam tape to add dimension. I finally added a bit of sparkle and glossy accents to finish the card. The snowy spots are Liquid Pearls in opaque white, which I have used on every card to tie the theme together.

This French hen is having a cheeky little red! What is you favourite wine? Red? White? Personally I’m a Rose kind of girl…

The whole series features the Bugaboo digital stamp set ‘The 12 days of Christmas’

Hope to see you on Thursday with card #4…

Happy crafting and see you soon xxx

  1. I love all the images you have shown us in this set so far, but these chaps are my new favourite! I think it is what you have done to the berets that seals the deal. Hmmn, wine….light Italian white for ‘whenever’ or proper expensive French for special occasions for me!
